Simple random sampling technique was used to select ten (10) pubic senior secondary schools in Akinyele Local Government Area, Ibadan, Nigeria. The purposive sampling technique was used to select 30 SSII Literature -in English students per school making a total of 300 students in the study. The instruments used were Students’ Perception of the Prescribed Prose Questionnaire(r=0.78) and Achievements Test in Prose Literature (r=0.75). The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment Correlation at 0.05 level of significance.
